Our Story

Snow-capped mountain with forest and clouds.

Our Beginning

Cascade Counseling and Wellness began back in 2017, while Megan and Prentice were living in Canada. Even then, they knew Oregon was home, so they chose the name โ€œCascadeโ€ to anchor their vision throughout the Pacific Northwest. For Megan, that connection has always been clear โ€” no matter where in the world sheโ€™s lived or traveled, seeing Mt. Hood has always meant she was home. Naturally, it became part of our logo and identity.

When they returned to Oregon, Megan started a small private practice in 2018, and by December of 2020, she took a leap โ€” leaving her executive healthcare role at a local inpatient hospital to go โ€œall in.โ€ It didnโ€™t take long for her caseload to grow, and the idea of building a group practice was born. Not long after, Prentice left his own leadership role at a local substance use treatment clinic, and together they went โ€œall inโ€ on what Cascade Counseling and Wellness could become.

Since then, Cascade Counseling and Wellness has grown, but our vision has stayed the same:ย to provide exceptional behavioral health services to all people.ย That dedication has guided every stepโ€”whether creating a robust student intern program, obtaining our Certificate of Approval (COA) from the Oregon Health Authority, offering our team above-industry compensation and benefits, or expanding into unique services like ecotherapy, equine therapy, neurofeedback, and integrated medication management.

For Megan, the roots run even deeper. Born and raised in Clackamas County, itโ€™s no surprise that this is where she returnedโ€”not only to raise her family, but to build a thriving clinic to serve her neighbors. At Cascade, we believe in beingย deeply connected to our community.ย Thatโ€™s why youโ€™ll find us supporting local schools and theater clubs, youth sports teams, community festivals, and nonprofits that strengthen our neighborhoods. From the very beginning, Cascade has been about more than therapy โ€” itโ€™s about connection, belonging, and building a healthier community together.
