MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
pronouns: he/him
Ian grew up in Texas, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2018. Soon after, he answered the call of the Pacific Northwest and moved to Oregon where he earned his Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on addiction work, from Lewis and Clark College. Ian has experience supporting adults and teens through a variety of challenges, including addiction recovery, grief, ADHD, trauma, depression, and anxiety. He believes in making the therapeutic process transparent and collaborative—centered on building a relationship where you feel safe, seen, and respected.
Ian integrates brain science, metaphors, mindfulness, art, and humor to help facilitate therapeutic goals, make complex ideas stick, and ease the natural awkwardness that can arise in therapy. He works from a trauma-informed, social justice-oriented, and strengths-based perspective, recognizing that we develop survival skills to navigate life’s challenges—yet sometimes, those same skills can get in the way of growth and healing. Whether you're facing a major life transition, feeling overwhelmed by circumstances, or you’re ready to make a change but are unsure where to start, Ian believes that counseling can help. Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time in nature, playing video games with friends, attending concerts, and exploring new hobbies sparked by his curiosity. Ian is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the process of completing requirements for his CADC, and currently works with clients ages 14+ and their families.
Ian provides telehealth and in-person services at our West Linn office.
