STUDENT INTERN
Pronouns: she/her
Maggie grew up in Portland and is completing her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) at Capella University, where she also earned a BS in Psychology. She has a professional background in clinical bodywork, secular and Buddhist mindfulness, and Empowerment Self-Defense. Maggie is passionate about helping her clients develop a positive relationship with their bodies, boundaries, identities, and intuition. She believes that expanding the capacity for joy, simple pleasure, and presence also expands the capacity to process and grow from life’s challenges. As an student therapist, she applies these principles to couples and family relationships and is developing a specialization in couples therapy. Her primary therapeutic lenses are Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Maggie has experience working with the LGBTQ community and is passionate about issues of equity and justice. In her free time, Maggie loves hiking and backpacking, being an amateur ceramicist, hosting game nights, and spending time with her toddler and husband.
Maggie is a student intern, completing requirements for her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and works under direct supervision. She currently works with individual clients ages 14+, their families and couples.
