Originally from Los Angeles, Sessy graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Studies from Portland State University and is now completing her Master of Social Work at PSU. Since moving to Portland in 2021, she has gained experience as a School Social Work Intern at a local elementary school, where she co-led groups for children, collaborated with families, and supported school-wide wellness efforts. She also has experience working with college age students, where she supported students throughout different avenues of health and wellness using a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens.

Sessy is passionate about bringing empathy and understanding into her work, helping children, teens, and young adults feel heard, supported, and empowered. She is especially interested in mental health counseling and values approaches that honor each person’s unique story and resilience. Drawing from practices such as Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sessy is committed to supporting clients in building self-compassion, finding their voice, and navigating life’s challenges with confidence and care.

In her free time, Sessy enjoys cooking new recipes, playing board games and video games with her partner, bouldering, and spending time with her two cats, Safi and Hiero. Sessy is a student intern, completing requirements for her MSW program under direct supervision. She currently works with clients ages 5+ and their families.
